Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I am thinking of showing them in our county fair. The tuft is not centered off to the left alittle. I am hoping its a male and it is a colbalt blue like his daddy! I would like a duck too. What do you think of the blue drake, I was told by another that he is an old boy but when I bought him he was supposed to be last years breeder. They had no pool and nothing but mud and dirt to live in. They never new what grass was or a pool for that matter so I bought all that they had to give them the best life I new I could. They are thriving and cant wait for their new plumage to come in to see their real potential on the correct feed and forage!! I've had them since Febuary and they have improved greatly already!!! They also had no humal contact and have been following me around like a puppy dog looking for their oats and attention every day. I just love them up and the hubby is getting jealous!!! hehee:celebrate Time to get to bed and will talk tommorrow. Thanks Quakers

Okay guys I need some advice immediately. Bruce hatched out 6 for 6 this morning. However now when if a baby starts running she hisses and bites it. Is this normal behavior for mothering?

She wants them to stay close to her. Is she actually hurting them, or just scaring them and they come running back? She won't want them to leave her, and as a new mama she'll feel very protective. If she's hurting them, take them away. I'm here if you need anything, Kevin.

CONGRATS ON 6 OF 6 w/ Bruce girl. I've been rooting for her.

Hello Guys!!
I finally have some good pics of my Rouen ducklings and the one with a nice crest. These are out of my Colbalt Blue Drake.
This is a Pic of the Blue drake
What do you think? They are my first hatching of the Rouens. I have another pen with a Green headed drake. Your opinion would be great to help me breed only good quality.
Very nice! And so glad they found such a good mommy to take care of them. I want some exhibition Rouens....love the deep keel on them.

I'm pretty upset, I took off tommorrow. I'll be at vet first thing. I'll let ya'll know.
I hope it's something the vet can fix!

It's more just scaring her. I'm just nervous because she's a first time mom. I was so surprised to wake up to 6 goslings running around! I never expected her to have a 100 % hatch rate but she seems happy. Thank's so much Marty!

I'm out to set up the brooding pen for her. I do have a question though. White is a recessive gene is Geese right? Because all the babies look exactly like she did as a gosling and their dad was a White Chinese Gander.
