Marty, I was wondering the same thing! I see chicken crazy, DG, Quacker Jack and country girl's names online but they don't come to this thread anymore. Julie's been around, but not much. SM is not online at all that I know of.![]()
Dutch, I think she still needs it off at least part of the day to continue to build callous as well as allow for growth, but yep it is loosely wrapped and should have good airflow. The other foot is also deformed and her toes curl inward. It is amazing how she has made it through the first 30 days of life. And thanks for the compliment!! I choose to have pets for kids instead of kids and my dewlaps are my pets. So, I will do for them what needs to be done, just like I do for my horses, dogs and cats. Can't say I'd run a duck off to a vet for help, though.
I think that some said they felt like the thread was taken over (but I havn't figured out by whom just yet) and others are just off with their other interests.
I'm having another go at the giant pekings. They are by far the hardest darn birds to hatch that I've had pass through my hands. 26 eggs, one duck. As for not taking a duck to the vet, just wait until one you love needs you.
