They sounds like the multipurpose bird to have around! Are the less domesticated ones still as useful? There's a man about 45 minutes from here that sales California Valley Quail and Bob Whites. 
i would never have bobwhites. they are known to be serious jerks. im not sure about valley quail.

I have no idea. i have heard no to chickens brooding them because the eggs are so fragile but maybe worth a shot? coturnix are almost never broody. ive never had a broody either. i have some hens that do well with hatchlings but could actually care less about the young. they seem to never miss them. Sad.lol.

Hi everyone!

My egg/baby didn't make it. It was chirping some so I thought it was almost ready and then it stopped making noises.

I have some beautiful Ancona and my own CAYUGA babies ! Also am hatching 76 Giant Pekins, and 30 Heritage Turkey, and 65 Guinea, and OHIKI's from the 24 LD !!

Is it wrong to feed chickens chicken?
Chickens are cannibalistic. If you feed chickens eggs, then why not chicken?
