Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Kevin I hope she bounces back. Toxins can be flushed using activated charcoal (added to fresh drinking water) or molasses. It can take weeks to fully bounce back from a poison or toxin. We had a gander get into mushrooms, was fine mid day by night round up was laying flat not able to move. Forced molasses water into him all evening. Kept him inside to be quiet with plain water. Next morning more flush followed by egg yolk and plain water. By day 5 he was outside in a small pen but wobbly. He is fine now and free ranges with everyone.
I did steamed oatmeal and eggs during this time along with food to keep his strength up and keep weight loss at a minimum.
Thanks Celtic. I have some activated carbon I can add to the water. Is there a certain ratio I should be using? Thanks so much for your help Celtic

I hope she pulls through K.

Kev you are doing everything you can ~ we all know it !

Purdy Scovies !

Went to auction sold some roosters & came home with 3 kittens that were being given away out of a trunk of a car

Good thing we have a big barn & lots of room to roam. We only have 3 barn cats right now anyways.

Hmm, one of our cats catches smaller chickens. The silkies are just a bit bigger than he'll go for. He caught and killed our Millie F'Leur hen. (hes a neutered male, BTW. Why doesn't he lazy up like the other one?)

Kevin, I'm awefully sorry your having so much trouble with your little one.

You know I'm thinking of you.

Thanks, Jaz! Nice of you to take the kittens home. We had a young cat dumped on our property last fall. Iain named her Ninja Warrior as he could never catch her. About 5-6 weeks ago, she gave birth to 4 kittens. It was a surprise, but cute to have the kittens around. Iain has been feeding them canned food every day for the past couple of weeks and is close to catching them to get them all fixed.

Our cats live really well with our flock. Our ducks actually follow the cats around and are often seen drinking out of the kiddy pool together.

I am doing well, thanks... busy! I am pleased with the news story. Sundance contacted fox asking for info on how to adopt and was told the website link would be up this afternoon.

Ya'll have cats look what was in our coop yesterday, this is a small one we have had them close to 6' in there. I was going to toss him over the fence into the woods but remembered Wynette wanted me to take a pic of one if I got the chance, so I put him in the trash can so i could go inside and get the camera, boy was he mad after I let him out then i had to pick him up again carry down the drive way and toss into the woods. Steve Erwin would have been proud.

Also I moved the goslings out with the adult geese this morning. The gander may be a giant Jerk but he is excellent dad. He didn't think twice when he saw them and they are currently snuggling right up next to him. Maybe he does have tender side
