Detatched Cell Silkies : ( I have a thread... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/704328/diary-notes-attempt-air-cell-detatched-shipped-eggs you can come on over and share some of what you have learned. I am so upset, first hatch ever and I HAD to choose the worst eggs for shipping!! UggggggWhat are you trying to hatch and how soon?
Quote: I just have some nutridrench that I mix in the water. I have incubated about 6 dozen shipped eggs in the bator at various times and only four chicks hatched so far and one more is chirping in the egg. I also finished hatching out several duck eggs that were abandoned after most of the other ducklings hatched under the mother. Hopefully someone else will jump on because most of the other people on this thread have much more experience than I do.![]()
Oh that stinks! I dont think mine will make it. Do u get shipped eggs? where do u think the problems lie? : (I just have some nutridrench that I mix in the water. Quote: Almost all of the eggs I got were shipped eggs except for a few I tried from my muscovys. I have heard muscovys are hard to hatch in a bator, so far for me that has been true I will just let the ducks hatch their own eggs from now on if I want any more muscovys. Two dozen of the eggs were from one person on ebay and only one egg had any development at all, if I remember correctly, and it was an early quitter.
My current batch are BCMs and I have probably 4/12 and that was with a staggered hatch with the SFH eggs.
The SFH eggs was 1/15 but it looked like more were developed but failed at the end(I didn't look to see except for one that accidentally broke and that one looked well developed).
