What kind of bator are you using? I will pip a small hole sometimes where the crack is.... But I know it also depends on the type of bator you have. Because I can open mine all I want, and do not have humidity issues & such.... If the othe eggs are wiggling then they seem to be on track. Have you had a chance to candle ?

I must admit I have an enabling hubby of poultry whore-ding

Our new indoor & outdoor coup design ~ cover of the drum is all stainless, too keep debris out, and has 2 filtration sytems, if you see the picture of one side with fine straining & the lower with bigger holes.

I luv how we made to levels of height on the nipple drinkers ~ for turkeys, chickens, and chicks. It also will have another nipple waterer going in thru the cedar fence for the inside too

Okay, stupid question time. I set eggs on August 18th - duck eggs - so when would their hatch date be? I'm highly concerned that I may have miscalculated when they were due, sooo I figured I'd ask to be sure...I feel really silly asking, I know the hatch date is supposed to be 28 days later, but I really feel like I counted wrong and I wanted some feedback from experienced hatchers here. Will they start hatching on Friday the 14th, or is Saturday the 15th, which is four weeks later, their hatch date?

Due sept. 15th.

Yes, 28 days, but ducks don't always get here right on time. Don't forget to stop turning on Sept 12th. I directly spray my eggs every day at the same time from a room temp spray bottle mister. When you stop turning, its lock down time, and you need to add moist sponges, and fill up your water reservoir at that time, then shut the bator and leave them alone. (although I still barely lift the lid and spray the crap out of them daily for a few seconds).

We're here if you need help when the time comes!

Thanks so much! After having 14 out of 16 die on me already, I really want these two to make it. Now, at lockdown do you drop the temperature to 98.5? I believe I read somewhere that you're supposed to do that.

I love your rain barrel! Ours are food grade plastic and still need to be attached to the drain spouts. Poor hubby has too many projects.
