If you can keep your bator at 99-100 without more then very brief dips in temps, you should be fine.  Ducks and geese sometimes lay for a couple of weeks before sitting them.  Even better if they were not shipped.

You should be sure to read this. It is a good resource for waterfowl hatching. I use this completely and exactly for geese, and very close for ducks. I only cool them for 15, and not 30 minutes though. I also spray them directly 2-3 times a day, like a mama duck would from a quick eat and swim and back to the nest.

Hi everyone! NIce to see so many posts after a long slow period here. Whos hatching? I'm itching.....

I've got serama's and call's due this week. Then more serama egg's coming, and maybe I'll set more calls, if she keeps laying.

today and yesterday I have hatching!!! 4 and 1/2 hatched. the sixth egg was a bust... I had to open the bator during lockdown because some of the chicks were picking at one of the chicks feet that has a foot problem. I think the chick with the problem was the most recent hatch. It's feet are in like fists would be the best way to describe it. I gave it a little vitamin water and took out the other hatched chicks that were picking on it. the 1/2 is pipped but not out yet. Now I have to find out about fist feet!

Hello everyone just noticed this thread didnt know there was one in the duck section.Do yall mind if i join you? I will be putting some duck eggs in my homemade cooler bator tomorrow still trying to get the temperature to stop losing heat.My bator has been running for 3days the high temp is 99-100and it drops to 94-96 degrees.Going to add another light to stay on and some river rock to help hold heat. I am going to have 18 mallard eggs and 12 pekin. Most probaly wont do anything cause i have been gathering them for about 2wks.

x2 on what Marty said. Ducks will collect 2-3 weeks sometimes, and I've set duck eggs that had been in a fridge for over 2 weeks and had perfect hatches.

Hey all!

Took 9 drakes down to the auction today, over three hours on the road for the round trip. Met Jaz down there and she gave me the down low on buying and selling at the two auctions down there. So nine drakes moved on, two cayuga hens followed me home.

Good day, I might say. My poor blind duckling is 4 weeks old now. I've accepted the fact that I'm going to be keeping him/her. They are starting to get their grownup voices, so I'm going to pick another girl to keep as a friend and sell the other three. Then no more ducklings for a few months.
