Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Thanks Paula, its a challenge but he spent the day today enjoy the Alpha flock being close to the porch. He also helped me shuffle the Ancona ducklings who arent so little now. They are sharing the space with the dewlaps and did well together.

Winter rye and red clover are great cover for us this time of the year and them summer seeding in April.

We use Rabbit guard fencing all over. Temp pens, gosling day pens, and barriers for seeding and resting spots. We can step over it, the geese cant get over it, small ducklings and goslings cant get out because of the small holes at the bottom.

We were told they were "around 12 weeks" the first of Oct when we got them. With winter and all though I have no idea when to expect the first eggs. So I'm on egg watch with them as well as the geese even though I dont really expect any till about the end of Jan.
