I knew there was a question I forgot to answer. No they haven't. The one was due the 14th and I just candled a few minutes ago. The duck is moving and is now taking up the full egg. And the air cell has swooped down like it does a couple days before the hatch. So I'm thinking with all the open and close that was going on with the silkie/cochin hatching... the temp probably dropped a little and it developed slower. That's what I'm thinking anyway. The other egg is due later... but I don't remember when. HA! I put it in the day Edward died... so I guess I can go back to when I posted that and count the days.

How is Bunsen doing? I hope he is doing ok. I saw the post but was out and about and didn't get a chance to repond to it.

My babies are growing and growing and eating and pooping. I think POOPING more than anything.

She is doing decent. I think she's just in a little shock right now. She won't eat but she's drinking a little. Just tiny little sips. She's doing a good job of not messing with the bandage. And Bunsen isn't messing with it either... but I'm debating taking it off and replacing the salve under there. Because it's starting to loosen pretty good and it's hanging in places.

It's hard to bandage a duck that doesn't want you touching it's neck. Just FYI.

Yes, and maybe I shouldn't have. It's stuck to the wound. Yikes. I don't know what to do about that. Maybe put her in the bathtub tmw? I don't know. Darn it!!

Just pour a little warm water on it and it will loosen up. I know Watkins is good but I think I would be some aniibiotic ointment on it. You need some of those non stick pads to put on it before wrapping it. Why don't I bring you some.....

The reason I initially grabbed the salve was because it was still bleeding a little and I thought it would sooth the pain right away. And then I thought I will go back tmw and add the anti-biotic.

But really this was all just spur of the moment thinking, because I didn't really stop to access everything. I just grabbed the first thing in the medicine cabinet.

So now, I'm taking the time to actually think about it. That's what I do. I react and then think.

She's hurting though. Maybe I should post a new thread. I remember reading once about giving them baby aspirin for pain. I think I may have some..
