Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I've had them pip and hatch in the egg turner. Deep breath.

If the humidity gets increased now, they should be fine.

Thanks GQ, sorry, thought I'd be less nervous about things is year but I seem worse lol, I guess it's just rooting for those little babies to make it. I think cos I wasn't there to lockdown and check on them that I'm feeling very out of control, I hate weekends, I have to leave them completely at school and I like being in control haha. I will keep you posted, I'm hoping there's one out tomo, he'll be called Walter if there is haha x

Meet Mr huge airsac aka Walter!! :) 2 days early!!

Help which one? The one with big airsac or the one with the airsac on the top? 6 out of 7 were assisted last year but that's because one died and the lady that was helping me thought it was best to intervene as my other pipers had all made zero progress in 24 hours, nothing had developed. I think lifting the lid off and on meant the others had to be helped too when they pipped so don't want to step in to early but also can't bear to watch one die :(

Hey sorry busy busy weekend. The one with the air sack on top. Any hatched yet? Exciting!

Remind me what the normal hatch progression is...
Hatch day is supposed to be Weds here. Eggs started pipping last night, and more have pipped throughout the day, but none have progressed any farther than that. Shouldn't there at least be peeping or rocking or something?
I incubated a bunch of eggs last year, too, so you'd think I'd remember some of it, but I really don't. Thought the peeping had come before the pips last time around.
Getting worried because there are a couple of eggs where the shell is loose where they pipped and the membrane looks dry - but I don't recall ever seeing membranes last time that looked any different than that, either!

wow so some of them are pretty early! You must be doing something right then :highfive:

The lady I got them from reckons they may hav been subjected to heat of some kind maybe before they went in, perhaps mummy sitting on them so cell division started, although I had them sat in the classroom for two days before they went in?? They are soooooo gorgeous, we have a Walter, Doris, Eric, Donld and Alan so far, will post some pics. Shall I leave these 5 in there till weds as that's hatch day for the others?
