I'm a little nervous about getting a mallard drake from someone in the spring for the same reason.

I'll have to be careful.

Has anyone else been doing any baking this week? yesterday I made pumpkin breads and cinnamon bread, and today i baked chocolate chip cookies and walnut brownies, sure wish ya'll were close so we could visit and eat some goodies and have some hot cider or herb tea. I had to use my fresh chicken eggs though since my ducks aren't laying now.

This little ducky has some yolk left, about the size of a marble.. or a little bigger. And it's sleeping.. A LOT.

I'll be hatching something at some point too - maybe not till your autumn though. So we have to keep going till then at least

Just sold two more young ducks so that's it for sales now. They are off to live with nice people in a fenced orchard with a pond, so I'm sure they'll be happy. I'm left with 10 ducks, 8 of them Swedish in various colours. 3 drakes and 7 ducks. I think originally I said I only wanted one drake and then I said I can't possibly have more than two and, whoops, now I have three. That duck math thing.....

That's how I got the 12 Silkie/Sizzle/Cochins in my garage. Whew. That was close.

I am getting today 45 Ringneck Pheasant Eggs, 50 Chukar Eggs, & 18 Buff Orpington Eggs!!

I am wanting some IOWA BLUE, Euskal Oiloa (Marraduna Basque), And BRABANTER eggs. I also have 35 Valley Quail peeps & 35 Californian Quail peeps Reserved for February.

Ok what is an IOWA BLUE????
