In the meantime...QuackerJack, if your duckling looks exactly like that one of Stillmecle's and its head it stuck in the shell in the same way then take the end of the bill in your fingers and very very gently pull its head free of the shell. Make sure there's no membrane sticking to its head to prevent you easing its head out. Do nothing more then release its head. Don't pull any more of it out of the shell. It may still have yolk to absorb. I'm suggesting this because yours is tired and had been stuck and warrants the extra help.

Stillmecle - if your duckling has really truly removed all that shell all by itself and now has its head wedged in the shell then I'd suggest doing the same as above. But if you have been helping then don't do anything yet because the duckling may not be ready - wait a while to see if it can free its head by itself.

OHHH

have to leave work and head home

wont be able to check for updates for about an hour

Keep up all the good work

What a fun day on BYC! Can't wait to see pictures!

In the spring, we need to get a "hatch group" together.....all of us put in our eggs on the same day, so that on hatch day we can all do a thread like this one!

How fun would that be?!?!?!?!?!?
