we think he is part border,
part aussie,
and part sumthin big and waterproof. he is literly waterproof when you give him a bath.
and has a naturally docked tail, strong herding instincts.

him & his brother were thrown over our bridge at about 8 weeks.
so we are just guessing about his breed.
his brother who my uncle toook.
is short haired, still black and white. smaller. has half of a tail.
and extreme hunting instincts.
so who knows.

also kinda why he got his name - cuz he flew over a bridge.
oh and kinda from babe.
wanted to name him something that people would ask why i named him that.

He's cute. I have a aussie/border collie mix too. Her momma was a lhasa though so she's a funny looking short legged curly tailed little mutt. She looks even funnier now, she's got short hair and longer wavy hair in other spots. She's evil and chases the chickens constantly. I'm hoping when she's older (she's about 5 months so a teenage pain in the butt right now) I can maybe teach her to herd the ducks instead of just chase them. I'm thinking I'll start her on herding the kids, then move on to the ducks. Should come in handy.

That's the first thing I thought of too, the movie Babe. He's a cutie, whatever he is.

best dog in the world

hes my boy. i cant do anything without him by my side.
he makes a good fishin partner 2. altho he thinks he needs to play with every fish

I bet he's great with kids too. Those border collies (and aussies) are GREAT with kids. My parents have Aussies and the don't leave my girls side when they're outside. Great Dogs!

This is our little pain in the butt, Annie. Half golden, half German Shepard. Great girl. She sleeps next to the duck coop like she's protecting them, but if they were to get out she would try to eat one. We're working on that.

Definitely start with the kids. That ones a cutie too! I see a lot of the Aussie in her. And those short little legs are precious.

he loves little kids, and so does our other dog.

annie is adorable.
yea fly is a little crazy about animals. he knows where they belong and thinks they should stay there.
if the cats leave the barn he chases them back and nudges them around till they go back in. he has accidently killed 3 cats that way.
the only thing he leaves alone is the chickens and guineas. apparently he knows they go where they want.
we will c how he does when the ducks free range this fall.

Annie's problem is she wants to play with everything. She KNOWS she's not supposed to touch them, but she can't resist. I'm hoping as she gets older the pup in her will calm down and she won't want to play with the ducks.

yea she should calm down.
when my cocker spqaniel was younger he was horrible. didnt listen, would chase the chickens, not to get them just tracking them. if they stopped he sat down and waited for them to move again.
as he got odler he got better, and with a few stern lessons from grandma he stopped completely.
still follows them trying to c them butt, if you tell him to stop he does.

I've definitely seen progress with her, but I still don't trust her AT ALL. I really worked with her this summer. Had her on a leash everyday when I would go to the ducks. My other dog Shiloh is an 11 yr old lab who could care less about them. In fact the ducks aren't afraid of her at all and will lay beside her. Of course when I try to get a picture everybody scatters. It would be a cool pic though!
