Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I just candled my duck eggs. They are on day 21-22. One looks normal I think, starting to slope off. The other slopes more, and the again on the other side. I can see shadows in the mittle slopey side moving, if that makes sense. The second picture is the one I see shadows moving in. Is it trying to internally pip already? This is my first duck hatch, my chicks have all been under broodies and my quail you can't see anything.

The area to the right is where I'm seeing the movement.

They emailed me back.

I think I might go get a couple more goose eggs.

I would definitely get some gooseys. Are they loud? I've heard they are loud, and I've heard there's a breed that isn't.
Can you have just one goose? Or do they like other geese. If I had one goose I think it would whip my dog into shape. She likes to "play", but a goose would nip her on the nose.

Chinese and africans are loud. Sebastapools, roman tufted, american buff, and pilgrims are quieter I think. Miss Lydia has a gander who hangs out with her ducks I think.
I think I'll wait and order my roman tufted instead, if the africans I'm getting don't hatch. They're loud but I think they are sooo pretty, so I'll deal with it.

I LOVE the Sebastapols. There were some Sebbie X eggs on there.. I think it's over now. I should have gone for it. Oh wells. I need to focus on one thing at a time!

My opinion/experience: It will slope more down the right side. The movement on the right like you were describing is more of the ducky positioning itself. They look GREAT to me.

I'm impatient, lol. I like my hatch in 17 days quail. I don't think I could ever be patient enough for mean sandwich stealing emu's which take forever. My kids didn't even dare take their whole nine months to make their appearance either.

If you're impatient... this duck hatch is going to KILL you. Especially when you're used to those little "pip and zip in under 60 seconds" quail.

My eggs got shipped today!!!! I just got a PM from her. Woo Hoo! I'm so addicted to this hatching thing. And these aren't being sold, no matter how much money someone throws in my face!

Lol. My goose eggs should be here tomorrow, then I'll really have a fun time. I think geese take 28-31 days or something. At least I'll have my ducklings and 2 batches of quail between now and then to keep me busy.

You could almost have 2 quail hatches in the time it takes to hatch a goose! I wonder how long an ostrich is. I can't hatch one because it violates rule #3 and #5 of my hatching rules.

The sussex or orps or both?

These are the Sussex. The others I haven't heard from the lady. Which makes me nervous cuz it's ebay.

ETA: Nevermind. I'm stupid. I went to my listing on Ebay and it says they shipped today at 4:30. So I'm expecting both packages of eggs on the 6th. Which is when.. Yay! That's Friday! OOOO.... If I get them in Friday they will be due the 27th. That's only 21 days from Friday!! Yay!

so wait... That means I will have had 2 hatches, you will have had 2 hatches.. and then after all 4 hatches, your goose will hatch. Lol.
