She is coming over to my place tomorrow to candle my Pheasants, Buff Orps, & chukars & to pick up some MW & CH turkeys I hatched for her! Small world. I believe she is bringing more mystery eggs for my bator, She is also the one I got my LAV & WH orps from

How funny! I was telling my husband yesterday, It's a small poultry world out there.

Has it been eating? Poults are sweet and cute, but dumb as rocks. Are the poults by themselves? If so put a couple of chicks in with them to show them how to eat and drink. Other than that, and maybe sav a chick or sugar water, there's not much you can do. Sometimes they just don't make it.

I narrowed it down by processes of elimination.
I know it's not a girl...

Technical answer: raspy peeping, greenish gray bill, starting to get green specks on his head.

Also, just to confirm, my big girl is chasing him around doing the head bob. (You know the one.)

Even worse, it's either her son, or nephew. Actually, that's assuming that the 2 big girls were related. I guess it could be they weren't. I'm inclined to say they were.

He's a good looking duck though.

I am brutally aware of "just don't make it" I raise my prize Golden Retrievers, and I have some that get "Failing Puppy Syndrome" & as much as you want to save it & bottle feed & stuff ~ you just have to let it "fade" It is really hard to watch, but it is mother natures way of creating strong animals. I could never have one go into a family knowing it had health issues from the start. In the long run it would cause more pain than joy.
