Thanks QJ, I just gave him a warm bath because I wasnt getting answers, and he was freezing. Hes doing much better. He barely had his eyes open before, but he does now. And our hair dryer broke

What is your sister doing with no hair dryer! OMG her hair must look a mess!!

How did peeps get stuck in the water? And how is this happening again! Weird!

has really frizzy hair, so hair dryers make it worse anyway.

He was just laying there peeping his face off. On his back. Poor baby...

Well, hopefully that is the end of the problems we've run into. I'm done with the ducky drama! And beaker only has 7 lives left.

I meant to ask you guys..

How big a breeding pen do I need for roughly 4 birds. One rooster to 3 hens.
Is that ratio to few hens?

And when do people typically seperate out for breeding. Is this personal preference? Because I've seen it go both ways,

freerange in the fall, breed in the spring..

breed in the spring, freerange in hte fall.

LF is 4 sq feet coop space, 6 of run space, minimum. So 40sq feet for a quad.

Personal preference on seperating I believe. Mostly in spring, since that's when everyone is laying and people want chicks/eggs.

I have a baby! He looks blue I think, he's laying there resting now. I'll get pics in a few hours when he's all fluffy and warm and I can get him out for a minute. Egg #2 hasn't started to zip yet. He's still got lots of energy, so I'll give him until tonight before I help him a bit.

So basically an 8x5 coop for 4 birds. Right?

This may sounds totally dumb, but have you ever seen breeding coops that are layers on top of each other? Like with tarps/plywood or something for flooring.

Nevermind. Do I love this website? Why yes, yes I do. Detailed instructions on stacked breeding pens.. This is exactly what I had in mind.

Ok, I had to take a quick peep. The shell looks good, there's only a teeny bit of gunk and no yolk whatsoever. Duckie does have kind of a big belly button, does that just take a few hours to close?

This last one I hatched had a big belly button.. It was there for a couple days, getting smaller every hour.

What a cutie!!!! And she does look blue! What kind of eggs did you get, I can't remember.
