OMG, I just found a way to make this thing run super faster. I'll copy and paste the directions..

Lets turn off some graphics and speed this sucker up.....
Go to your profile and click "edit account details" scroll about 3/4 of the way down to where it says "Site Preferences" and check both of those boxes
Go to "forum preferences" and check every box except the first one.
hit "save" in the lower right.

What we did is turn off as much as the site designers will allow. It does hide the pretty avatars and such.....but nothing is free
I measured a 30% increase in load speed.

It does hide the avatar. I'm going to turn that back on and see how fast it still is.

Ok, I turned unchecked the "Show Avatar" box and it is still MUCH faster. You all need to do this, you will be so glad you did!

70- I also read that if you download "Opera" for your Ipad... MUCH FASTER. So you might want to google that.. I've never heard of it.

OK, I'm noticing that if you do disable the avatar, it is even faster. I can tell a difference. I just like looking at everyones pic instead of looking at their names. Easier to distinguish people. But still there is a HUGE difference in the speed if you do all that other stuff I copied.

Also, it says that if they hadn't made this conversion, the old BYC was going to be non-existant because it basically couldn't handle all the people. I don't know anything about programs and platforms, but they said there were a lot of Patches to hold it all together.

I'm sure Nifty has been stressing about this for months without us even knowing. Poor guy.
