thats a good humidity level. keep it at that and whatever you do DONT OPEN THAT BATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (some of us have had bad stuff happen because of it )

KCs are great layers! i had 2 hens, and they laid like champs!

So, I have been curious. I know it is a big no-no to open it...but not sure why. Is it because of humidity loss??

YEP! very big No-No... if the duckling has pipped already and the bator is opened for to long humidity gets out, and then the membrane inside the egg that is around the duckling shrinks and suficates the baby. if the bator has been opened then get humidity up as fast as possible!

also the reason the membrane shrinks is because it gets dried out....

I take vitamin d which seems to help. But there are days when I just don't want to leave my bed and I sleep all day.

you CAN help, but only if its a life or death thing for the baby. but be preped to help other babies if the bators open to long....

i've herd so much worse over the years.
everyone has their own opinion.
but i went thru rough times.
had too much on my plate and it overwhelemed me .
and i shut down.
i still don;t kno exactly when it all went wrong. i just know it did.
and i was so very good at hiding it all.
but now, im as okay as i can be at this point.
one day, my life will be whole again.

but on a lighter note.
my animals helped me get thru
and without my ducks, some days . i wouldnt smile.
they always brighten my day

One day, your life will be whole again! I am glad that you are looking up. Keep trucking! And I know what you mean about the ducks! On the hardest of days, I find so much enjoyment in just watching them. Megan, you were not meant to have to face what you did. You didn't deserve what happened to you.
