Wow. That's pretty awesome. I got 6 weeks paid. Woo Hoo. Of course I got summer's off so I tried to time things accordingly. And then I resigned so.. win win.

No, but yes. I'm a Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf. But I worked in Education for the summer off.

When I retire I'd like to have a business designing and building chicken and duck coops for people. We are talking quite some years away however.

Ugh. She put up more silkie eggs. I am waiting though. I want to sanitize my incubator, have at least my oldest ducks moved outside, etc before I hatch more. I must wait at least 4 weeks. That would put my oldest about 9 weeks when the newest would hatch, and be at least close to nice enough weather to brood older babies outside. I might have broodies to hatch for me by then, so much easier.

I have a chicken sitting on some Swedish eggs and yesterday I thought the whole she-bang was getting a bit whiffy. Threw the hen off the nest and discovered that she has been casually pooping while sitting on the nest. For what looked like about a week. Gag. Amazingly, none of the eggs were dirty. I candled and one was clear and one had a blood ring so I chucked them out. Three remaining ones look alright (due 9th Feb).

Was thinking about DG. What about writing her a letter? Like, a real one, on paper.

Someone wondered if she had been banned from the computer for a bit and I wonder that too. I was trying to think of what we may have done to annoy her but I tend to think that if we had done something she'd have forgiven us by now.

Well, I have made and sold a few A-frame chicken coops. You don't make much money out of it but it's satisfying. I'd only want to do it in a more committed kind of way if I didn't have to work as well. Doing a couple a year is enough for me at the moment.
