I hope you help empower your sister to leave him be until he gets better or gets divorced. She DOES NOT have to take abuse, and it is NOT her fault that he has a drinking problem. You may suggeest Al-Anon to her, if she's intent on staying. Nobody can help him (or her) until they want help, but at least she's not in the house with an abusive man now. I hope you can go in and get the boys presents. They don't desearve to have a drunken father and no christmas present. Order some pizza, stick it in the frige, and warm it up for Christmas. Just remember to say a prayer of thanks first, cause the good Lord doesn't care what you eat, just so long as you remember him.

Unfortunately they are right back there with him. I tried to make her stay but nope they are both going to leave alcohol alone from now on and work on being better. I heard this a year an a half ago so I don't believe a word of it. The boys will have there christmas but I don't want to be there with him there so unless she brings them to our house they will have to wait til he goes back to work before they get to open our presents.

What a tough place to be. I understand, my sister has stayed with her alcoholic hubbie, and some craziness has ensued from time to time. I don't understand at all. Like, I'd have a talk with him with an iron skillet in one hand, and a gun in the other, until we understood each other in a permanent way. I have very low tolerance for bs.

I hope it goes ok for them. The problem with alcoholics is they are like camels. They don't have to drink every day, but when they drink, they drink a lot. This is the voice of experience here.

Chicken, sorry your holidays are looking grim because of certain family members and I imagine it will be really hard to find a good replacement drake unless you go back to Holderread. But........ congrats on the beautiful puppy!!!

One place was not so I'm down to looking at seeing if I can manage to come up with the money for the show quality pastel silkie drake or come up with enough chicks from this hatch to do a trade with some Marans and Silkie chicks. He also had a hen that had to go with the deal but his price is a bit high on them which he is probably adding the shipping from Holderread on to get the price that he is at so if I can come up with enough on trade then I will be getting him and the hen.

Merry Christmas everyone. My Christmas plans were slightly ruined when my sisters husband turned monster on her and her three boys (2 months, 2 years, and 5 years old). He and she need to leave alcohol alone but he has a serious issue with it. You know how it goes though it's all her fault she provoked him and it would have never happened if she would have just left him alone blah blah blah. We were not raised to take crap from anyone but here she is again because this happened only 1 1/2 years ago. Now it's really starting to show on my nephews and it just breaks my heart. Christmas dinner was planned to be done at her house so now no Christmas dinner. Not sure when the boys will be able to come back and open presents. We are having New years at the cowboy church. Nothing like surrounding yourself with good people to help take your mind off of all the negative that happens. You all have a great Christmas and a wonderful New year! Let's all make 2013 a great year...... I know I have some things to do different the first is going to be beefing up security on all of our chicken and duck yards including the perimeter around them all plus get a couple new yards built ASAP. Oh don't think I've shown him to you guys yet but we got us a new LGD. He is not much yet but one day he will be. He is 25% Anatolian 75% Pyrenees.

and sorry about family, probably most of us can understand what your saying it seems to be in most families, so sad for all involved especially the children.

Celtic we did find a SQ pastel drake that a guy in Illinois got from Holderread just this fall. I'm really trying to come up with the cash or trade to get him and the hen. The other ones I had found were not very good quality so I did have to pass on them.

Sorry about your BIL and the alcohol created stupidity between him and your sister. Hopefully your sister will bring the boys over to see you tomorrow.
