Julie, I know exactly what you mean. Dewlaps (like muscovies) are an acquired taste, but once you get it, they are adorable! It will be super cool if you get a gander from Paulla/Jerry. They have a beautiful buff pair!!

Which makes it hard to decide what I want, lol. I kind of want another embden, in case I want to hatch pure breds. But there isn't that big a difference proce/market wise around here between most geese and barnyard geese, so I don't have to go that route. And I want some color, not really another white goose. I also have a project in mind that a buff/buff mix would work out perfectly for, although I don't know that I have room for that. But I need a gander, my girls need a boyfriend. And since I can't figure out what I want I might just tell them I want a gosling and do NOT want to know what kind it is, just make it a surprise, lol. And make sure it has a

I agree with the dewlaps being an acquired taste. Every time I see them, I like them a little bit better.

I had two chicks hatched when I got home from work. Neither are the one I dropped.

I'm still not a big dewlap fan, but the more I see them the more they have been growing on me, lol. I only have room for one more goose here, and will probably get a gander from Paulla and Jerry this spring to keep my girls company. I miss hatching geese though, and might have to find some eggs just to hatch/sell the goslings. Not as much fun when I can't keep them, but still fun.

Lol, since I can't decide what I want I might just have to go with the suprise. I would love whatever I got.

I can't believe I fell asleep at 8 o'clock on NYE.

Lol, Not that long ago I never would have thought sleep would sound better than a few drinks and parties, amazing how things change. Happy new years everyone!

Spent the night home safe and warm here. Spent some time in a reverse swap online and picked up some rare breed chicks and eggs both.

Bators are full, eggs are hatching and life is normal again. We have super blue eggers hatching right now, more FW Muscovy, Khaki, 3 Sebbies are out, a bunch of olive eggers. More Duck eggs set, Sebbie eggs set, Blue eggers set, Swedish flower hens, Cream Legbars, Chocolate Orpingtons. A bunch of rare orp eggs soon too (lemon blue, jubilee, crele)

Congrats on the new years hatches. I think if I do any it will just be of my own birds, and maybe some mottled Javas from a different breeder with better egg layers.
