Hi all.

RG - Sebbies are indeed edible, but most people object to eating ornamental birds. They are valuable enough that you could trade one for 3 or 4 adult regular varieties, and eat even more geese. Once I've filled my sebbie egg orders, I'm going to sell my others on ebay or here.

I have about 12 sebbie eggs on my counter now that both girls are laying. One lays smaller eggs though, maybe 20% smaller. She's also 2 monthes younger, she was my last goose hatch of last year.

I'm going to be setting my goosie eggs tonight or tomarrow a.m., and some ancona eggs too from my girls (one of which absolutely has a curly tail).

What is everyone else sitting? I know what RG has, but what are the rest of you doing?
Got test batches of pekin and cayuga in my bator. Wish the runners would cooperate.

goin: just some random chicken eggs from a family friend. she wants me to do all her hatching, and wants me to pratice before spring.

cute babies.
Happy hatching! Chicks are such cake to hatch compared to ducks!

Good luck with the duckies

Try to let them do their thing .... Remember they are as SLOW as Cold Molasses ! I have never had buff ducks, but have seen them and are really pretty birds. I have hatched buckeyes, and they sold really well, but never the Icies or the Buffs. Can't wait to see pics

Are you going to keep them all & grow them up ?
That taco truck is amazing. Middle of next month I want to try to get down there.

Quackers, sorry your hatch was boys. Hope your test hatch brings you lots of girls!

RG, sorry your one egg didn't make it. But you have the 2nd egg.... and how many more??

RG - The problem with hatching emu is all those extra nail biting days for something to go wrong in.

GQ - Good luck on your hatch!

Iain - Whats new?

Psue - Hi girl, how much snow ya get?

We have something like 12-16" of snow, and its still coming down. A new wave started an hour ago, and we expect up to 4" more tonight. One of our bugs is parked out at the end of our driveway. They are the only car that can plow through all the snow. Today, he needed my 63 bug and a shovel, and it still took him over an hour to get out of the 200' of drive. Mr. Macho is a bit sore tonight and busy snoring on the bed allready.
