Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Yesterday early afternoon, I went to do my routine check for eggs in my Africans' main nest. It's in a downed tree in the middle of the pasture. Here is a pic of my brown African girl, Peanut, at her nest (if you can see her):

Well, I didn't find any new eggs, but was surprised to find my cats laying up against the nest. Do you think they are guarding it?

I'm surprised the geese will let them stay there! 6 days 'til my Ancona hatch!

Duckling #2 hatched about 1.5 hours ago. Waiting for at least 4 more to hatch that have pipped, and hoping the other 6 will pip soon. Although I'm thinking one of those 6 isn't going to hatch at all, no movement when it was candled last night.

YAY .. I have 7 that have internaly pipped and 5 more that are working on it

Quick question: one of the eggs pipped on the pointy end of the egg. Should I pip a tiny hole for it to get some air, or leave it alone? I'm not sure how long it's been pipped...
