What's up everybody!? GrannyCarol- Good to know everything's calming down at your house a little.

Ugh! Ok, duck #1 is trying to get the last of the shell off. Duck #2, 3 and 4 have absorbed most of the ramen noodle blood vein to where it's now.. like a dental floss blood vein. So I swabbed them down with a qtip and am waiting a tad bit longer. I'll keep you posted!

DG I am need somebody to have my back in here. It can get serious in here at times. Whew. What a morning already. Neighbor called and said my ducks are laying eggs out there all over the place. She found 3 out by the pool, 2 in the back yard of their house, 1 in the middle of their kennel, 1 by the waterer, and she found a next clear back in a corner of the straw bales. Not sure why they aren't laying them in their coop anymore. Maybe Jonny is being mean in there and they are just protecting their eggs. Those are all from yesterday!! and I only have 3 ducks. Jonny has been a busy boy I think.

The one egg I thought was going bad, it did. It was really stinky today so out it came. So I am down to 7 eggs in the incubator out of 10. The ones that are in there it looks like one has two heads in it too. I just can't get a break with these babies. What am I doing wrong? Its so frustrating I just want to give up. Hubby says this is it until next spring. If I don't get any this time no babies this year.

Mine used to be good girls and lay in the nest box until my silkie took it over to go broody in. Now I have to go for an egg hunt every morning. A friend just brought over 20 bags of mulched leaves I dumped in the coop and run, so there are about 6 inches of leaves everywhere for them to bury them in. They usually stick with a few places, but sometimes I have to rake the whole thing to find them, and if I forget to lock them in the coop overnight I don't find them for a few days sometimes. Their run is 25' x 55', way too big to search everyday.

so mojo jojo and fuzzy lumpkins are out and floppin all over the place (how long does it take for them to find there footing??my chicks would be atleast up by now )
