Brrrr! Cold out there! I went to let everyone out a few minutes ago. Momma silkie jumped up once I got down there and left all the babies in the nestbox while she went to eat. I freaked out thinking I was going to have to bring the chicks inside. So I sat there trying to think of what to use since my heat lamp is out on the quail. Then I remembered last time she had chicks she used me as a nanny too. She brings me the chicks so they can eat and she gets a little me time. Smart momma taking advantage of a babysitter while she can. So I put the chicks in my pocket and they snuggled and kept warm until Snowflake was ready for her babies and put some food and water closer to her so she doesn't have to wait for a sitter next time.
