I wouldn't worry just now. They won't need to drink for the first 24 hours. Once they are fluffed up you can put them in the brooder. At that point you can give them water and you can put vitamins in the water. I think it's a good practice to do this for the first few days, for any duckling. Storey's Guide recommends giving it at half strength (since the vitamin dose is designed for chicks and ducklings drink more than chicks).

Once you put the ducklings in the brooder dip their bills in the water so they know where it is.

I give mine sav a chic on a qtip a few hours after they fully hatch. But here's the thing, mine that have hatched are technically 48-72 hours old, because they were so late in hatching. Does that make sense?

That's just me. You make that choice based on your situation, what 70 thinks, and then collaberate.

Discuss amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. The thigh master was neither a thy nor a master... discuss.

Ok, good. That pic looked pretty full. Have you told your hubby about that talk we're going to have? It will go like this...

ME: "eh-hem, hubby. Ok, so SM will be keeping those fuzzy butts in the bator right there."
HUBBY: "Who's SM?"
ME: "Your wife. That's what we call her."
HUBBY: "Oh. ... ... Why do you call her that?"
ME: "It doesn't matter. She will be keeping those fuzzy butts right there."
HUBBY: "okay, I'm cool with that."

And that will go over real good. LOL I just ignore him and he will leave me and my duckies alone.
