What do you know about the chocolate gene.

say we have runners, (or anconas) if you breed a chocolate drake, to a black duck, all the chocolate ducklings will be hens, and the blacks will be draklets. I like the chocolate gene.

Yes, but not from mallard x self chocolate. You'd get all black bibbed ducklings with a chocolate hen and mallard drake, chocolate drake over mallard are sex linked, black bibbed males, chocolate bibbed females. Do you mean solid chocolate or chocolate mallard patterned?

Well, the easy way (but a unpure bred way) is to breed a khaki hen, to a mallard (or rouen) drake, then breed those ducklings together and you have chocolates!
