Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I missed you all last night. I just got done with reading all your posts! Good grief!

I will put all my tidbit comments here:

#1 I LOVE that incubator. Love Love Love. It's not only huge but a beautiful piece as well.
#2 Happy New Year!!
#3 DG- Are you getting it?
#4 SM- I hope that kidney stone "resolves" itself. And your daughters too. And I hope you got your power back on!!
#5 Julie- Goose eggs?! Awesome!!

About my silkie/cochins: I didn't know that ad was still up on CL, so when that guy emailed me I thought I would let a few go. There was really only one that I truly wanted... but when he got here he thought they were all beautiful and said, "I'll double the price you want if I can take that lemon girl too."... Um... okay. So I let them all go. And if this guy wasn't so flippin excited about getting them I wouldn't have. But I know they will have a great home.

The guy that has taken them has already friended me on Facebook, sent me pics of his coop, and a pic of lemon girl. He will give me some eggs from her when she starts laying. I feel good about it.. really. And like my hubby says, You can hatch more!

And he's right.

Aww you have such a sweet enabling hubby!!

He is really great. I've had some kind of poultry in my kitchen for a few months now.. He may "complain" about them, but he really does love them.

Tell me about it! The hatching part is my fav.

I lost one of my big ducks last night. To my dog. It's a long story, but it ends with my daughter not securing the door good enough.

Not a great way to start the year.. but since I always like to make blessings of the bad, I will say, Beaker and Bunsen are getting along beautifully with the one lone big girl who suddenly would like a friend. But still, kinda sad.

I'm getting ready to move him to the brooder. I was SO excited that he got out on his own!!! Man! I finally might have gotten this right.

So sorry to hear about your duck and your dog, but again on a happy note so glad to hear she has accepted the 2 teenagers.

It was a very hard lesson learned for my daughter. But it will be alright. I'm just glad it wasn't a true predator. Like a coon.
