Have you seen this website?
I want French Guineas
http://www.jmhatchery.com/hens/french-guinea-keets/prod_1.html

What colors do you like? I would like a flock of 11, so I want 11 different colors

I luv me a variety!

I like the pied ones. Too bad they are so loud. I'd probably have to build a taller fence or not let them free range if I ever got them too. Still, they'd be fun to hatch. Have you seen vulturine guineas? http://www.leggspeafowl.com/Vulturine.htm

Yes I have seen them & considered it until I found out they were extremely aggressive & wild.... Yikes me have little kids!

The group I bid on was for 8, with at least 3 SFH eggs. She sent 9, w/4 SFH, but one was dented and badly cracked and one had a hairline crack. I waxed both of those. The one that hatched was out of the hairline cracked one. The one badly cracked did not hatch (no surprise), one was clear and the 4th started, but quite I think about half way through. One egg was supposed to be a Cubalaya, but hatched out with feathered legs and 5 toes.

(Me thinks there was a Silkie mixup), but that's OK, I've wanted to get some Silkies. The little one with the white eyebrows (do chickens have eyebrows?) also has feathered legs and 5 toes and is the cutest thing, but not very photogenic. Keeps trying to hide under one of the other ones. Lol. I think the white is also part Silkie but has clean legs and normal toes. The fifth one is BCMx, and I hope they are all hens!!!

So would you say it was a good experience? Or would you be less inclined to buy again.

She was really sweet and great to work with. I am a little concerned about the egg being marked wrong, but I think right now they are free ranged, so I can totally understand how that could happen. I was surprised and impressed that 5 of 9 (actually 5 of 8 since one was so bad) hatched. I got them for very little, so I kind of questioned the "Greenfirefarms" blood line, but I'm not in it to show or breed, so I really don't care. The one does look like a SFH, as far as I can tell, so maybe those are penned up. I would definitely buy again, and if you don't bid on the SFH eggs, let me know and I might. (My husband will kill me, so please bid on them so I don't!!!

Go ahead and bid on them, and I won't. (I'm such an enabler.) My thoughts were this: She has an auction for the SFH, and then right below that an auction saying all her flock is free ranging and there's a pick of the SFH. So maybe she has them penned up, but the add below says they aren't... so I'm like.. Um.. Not sure.

Kinda like what happened when I got my Cayugas. When you want pure, you want pure.... Nothing wrong with that. There also is nothing wrong with a barnyard mix

& of course I would hook you peeps up with any of my eggs when I start getting eggs!

I was told they are quieter and more calm? They don't handle cold temperatures well at all though, and need a heated shelter in the winter.

Now I have to find that website of a guy who has rare exotic birds & animals, who has them.... hmmm ~ I read the males can be aggressive to handlers, BUT I believe I was thinking of the Crested being mean

Well, I'm watching the SFH eggs, but they are already up to $17, and increasing rapidly, so will probably go out of my price range. Besides, I have 10 chicks that just hatched, so I don't know where I would put any more in a month, and I am going to do the Easter Hatch starting March 17th, so what was I thinking!!!

This chicken math is worse than drugs!

In my defense, I've only won one bid. I was planning on geese anyway, just not loud big ones. If my turkey, ducks, and rooster don't bother anyone though how much can a pair of geese hurt? I'm tired of mowing the lawn, we have almost 2 acres, I need geese.

Pribably at least 4....
And I resisted getting the turkey eggs. I am waiting for my tom. That took willpower right there!

Oooooo I just got 4 embolden eggs from my girl friend to check "fertility" hahaha
