Hmmm... I'd say the white in your roo is a fault. As black birds get older they can start to get some white on the tips of wing feathers abd if foot feathers (if they have them). But your guy is young.

Lavender is a recessive gene that you need two doses of in order to be lav. If you use your black roo to the lav hen all offspring will be black (unless he is carrying lav in which case you will get some lav offspring). All the black offspring will be carrying lav. Choose a black male and mate back to the lav mother. You'll get some blacks and some lavs.

But if your roo is carrying lav then you have a big head start. So use him with your lav hen to see what you get.

Blue is a bit different because it's not a simple recessive gene.

I wouldn't know, that far into it. But I wouldn't say so. Or maybe I'm reading this wrong. Lol. I'm just researching the Lavs right now.. So, with leaving the terminology out of it...
Basically-

Lav hen x Black roo = Lav split babies that are BLACK in color.

Black Lav split hen x Black lav split roo = a few Black, a few black/splits, and a few Lavs.

I think breeding 2 Lavs will always give you Lavs. But since you have the splash in there, it might mix things up a bit. But I think eventually you would get the same outcome.

hahaha wow when i read my post i confused myself big time i fixed it just a little but still got all mixed up..
that makes a little more sence than what i had

What QJ said is exactly right. But use the lav mother again with a son, not just brother to sister. You'll get more lavs that way.

Not sure how the white in your roo will come out in the kids though.

i think thats why he is called a black splash because he was an offspring of a lavander hen who what bred to a black roo..
ill see what i get when they start laying it will be quite fun and dissapointing and exciting all rolled in one..

If his mother was lav that's great! Breed him to the lav hen and you'll get 50% lav (in theory).

My kids were hungry. It was the weirdest thing! We have gone into lockdown though.. (nap time). So I might even get a SHOWER. WOW! Stop my exciting life!

Actually, I love staying at home. Hardest job I ever had to do without getting paid.

) He will say well why don't you get a job! I just hate that.... If he even had an inkling of what I do 365 days a year. But I know he is just venting because I reply OKAY then we will have to figure out a plan. Because if he thinks life would be the same & me working.... YA Right. He didn't like the list of things we would have to split ~ Like house stuff, driving kids to games & practices, and LOL the list kept going
