How bad are the winters where you live? I wish I could just do a 3 sided shelter in my pens. Probably could I guess. Half of my chickens and my turkey sleep outside in a roost in their run anyway. Only my ducks, silkies, and a few other chickens are smart enough to sleep in the nice warm coop.

Julie, why are you still up?!

Why are you? Lol. The girls are going to nonni's at noon tomorrow so I can take a nap after they leave and stay up late tonight. I'm enjoying me some time without kids yelling for something every 5 minutes.

In winter the lowest it gets to is about 20 at night, more often about 30 and rarely 15. My other two duck houses can be completely shut up and are insulated. I shut them in when it's going to be below 20 but to be honest they'd probably sleep outside if I let them. If it's windy as well as cold they do go inside though. By the time winter comes around I might insulate this new house a bit or at least put a door on the bottom half of the house part to provide a bit more shelter. I'll see how the ducks handle it.

Hey guys!...... sorry i havn't been on lately.... The lambs are taking up A TON of my time. Plus I have school that i need to catch up on. PLUS I've been overwhelmed all week cause I have a speech in church tomorrow in front of about.... 60 people?... yeah, 60!..... I'm SO NOT excited! I'm terrified! D:

How did your speech go, DG? Maybe you haven't done it yet.... Let us know how it goes afterwards!

I have not used the auction system on this site, but the "but it now" has worked great for me. I got both sets of cayuga eggs from there.

QJ, I am pretty sure that you can order eggs directly from ancona ebay seller's website. I think it is thistle down farms.

Cocoa, nice & solid construction and the greenery is very pretty! What are the dimensions? How many ducks will it hold?

Hubby is excited about his cayuga eggs developing and has been cleaning out the coop that came with our property. I will have to take pictures to show you guys for suggestions on improvements.
