Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

You're doing the best you can and that's the best you can do. Just provide some extra help at home and keep in contact with the teacher. Maybe email her and ask what some things are you can work on. Teachers love that. When parents are asking where they can help at home.

BEING A MOM IS HARD!!!

you acually have to get off your butt and do things LMAO!!!
yeah i do need to get better with the things at home.. and my girls are behind.. i get so frustrated with them.. my oldest i have to stay up all night 2 or 3 oclock in the morning for her to finish writting her spelling words...
im working on it.. i really am. ive been kinda lagging behind on getting on them with work (even house work) but im doing much better. im back on my antidepressants for the season and i seem to be getting out of bed alot more :) and my kids are almost pistol wipped from mom being in bed all day to on their butts every two seconds :) lol
thats a great idea i will talk to her.. see what i can do here.. and if she has any suggestions on how to help me out with spelling..

I find that sometimes I go through a little mini-depression in the winter. I think part of it's the weather, and I think part of it's the fact that I'm here by myself all day.. alone. Except for these 2 kids that drive me crazy one minute and are precious the next.

It gets BORING and it's the same thing everyday! I wouldn't change it.. but it's still hard sometimes.

So just do the best you can. And everybody else can screw off.

I'd say screw school completely, and put them in cyber school, at least until the bus started coming much closer to my home (like the end of the driveway close)

im going to ask you this and i want all your honest opinions

THREE GIRLS one 8 one 6 and one 4
4 feet of snow
no plow??
and you have no snow boots..
just to set up the plot

now would you dress them and tromp 3 miles to a bus stop to catch a bus at 6:30 AM!!! and send your girls to school with soaking wet clothes??
or would you say screw that its a personal snow day??

Me too. It's so much harder being stuck in the house with the kids. At least in spring/summer/fall I can take them outside, even if I can't find the energy to actually take them somewhere. And a day off every now and then would be sooooo welcome!

Hi Evelle,

I suffer from seasonal depression as well. As you probably know, Vitamin D deficiency is one of the big culprits with this disorder. A few years ago, my mother bought me a full spectrum reading lamp, which I use for an hour or two at night from October to January. My SAD is 95% gone now. (I do have a couple weeks around winter solstice, when the days are the shortest, that I have to drag myself through). If you haven't already tried this, you might want to.

Good Luck,

Tahai

I know what you guys mean. I am a major outdoors person (trail riding, camping, gardening, etc.). I get major cabin fever every January when the days are short and super cold.
