I'm thinking about ordering a pair of african geese from ideal. That way if I hatch 2 boys or 2 girls I'll have one of the other sex to go with so I have a pair. Any thoughts?

Or I could wait, try to vent sex mine, then order whatever I need. I'll have to order 2 anyway though. I don't want 3 geese, just a pair, and I don't want to sell a lone gosling. Would prefer pairs for that too.
Think I might order some d'uccles too....

If you hatch your africans, I'd say get more african eggs. Then cull the extra boys once the gender is known. Just my 2 cents.

I think it's cheaper just to buy them. Plus I don't think I'd be so attached to goslings I order as one's I hatch. Maybe I'll put up a want ad on craigslist for african goose eggs, and see if I get any responses. If I don't need them shipped I'll get a better hatch and make it more worth it.

I still am really worried about this hatch of eggs, because of all my power outages BUT one early Cochin HOPEFULLY means good news

Incubator must have done a good job if they are coming early and not late with a power outtage. I really need to invest in a better incubator, or stop hatching off season.

Snow day! If our school bus does is not able to get to all the routes, school is closed. & just make it up later. I would definately stand your ground and explain it like this.

When Cara was about 9 months old hubby found this stupid snowman that danced and sang ice ice baby. Cara loved it. Played with it all the time for months and months and months.
