We have three sets of hawks, go grateful for the crows and other birds who help keep a look out. Spent this morning sending out invoices for goslings and ducklings to start getting a head count of spring reservations.

Also counting out for our big Easter hatch, we have a large local order for chicks, ducks and geese.

Oh and it's overcast so I can't seem to stop yawning today. LoL

I need some babbies in the form of ducklings, goslings and chicks, to make me smile. I also need a place to put them..

Can't put the cart before the horse so to speak.

Lydia, I am very fortunate to have a brooder/feed house that is roughly 14x20 with heat, a/c and running water. I hatch in the house and by 24-36 hours old they go out to be brooded.

Sounds like an awesome set up you must do alot of selling too to be able to hatch out so many?

It came the minute I put Little Eddie outside. I think "peeping" in hawk language must mean "eat me, free meal, I'm helpless".

They've been awful this year haven't they? I think the nice weather has meant that we have bunches that stopped on their way south and haven't gone anywhere. I've seen one or two occasionally before, but this winter they are pretty much a daily sight. My poor birds have been locked in their yard most of the time since the one got my khaki. I'm afraid to put the babies out until they stop peeping. There were 2 closing in when I took them outside for like 10 minutes yesterday. Think their loud mouths bring them in.

Ok, what a morning.

I actually feed the crows so they do me a service and I reward them. There is another bird out here though that is going nutty, I just need to figure out what it is. They make a sort of screaming noise.

Filled up the pool for the duckies since it's so nice out. It takes approx. 22 buckets to fill a medium sized kiddie pool. FYI.

OH and I candled my eggs and I would SWEAR I have a Light Sussex that has internally pipped. Now, you would think it would be easy to tell... but the air cell is really swoopy and it's hard to really tell. I will know more tonight.

That is the only Light Sussex egg that made it, I think.
