Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Male sure the beak is clear and it can breath. Of there is red blood vessels let it rest as long as it can breath. If no red vessel present you can gently work the membrain back with the qtip giving it more roo. You will need to work quick but careful. Place backin the incubator to let warm and in an hour return and go again.

Sorry to not be around today. Flew out this morning at 7 am and fly back home tomorrow night. Just getting settled in for the afternoon/evening here.

Update: One chick out, yolk dissolved, looks perfect. One chick halfway. Had to help both.
One egg, showing movement when I candle, but I'm debating on pipping for it.

HELP!!

Also, MY SEBBIES ARE HERE!!!!!!!

Lots of excitement today.

Dark bathroom, after running the shower to warm and moisten the air. Use a flash light to see where the chick is, then carefully pip the shell. I like teasers for this. Check the membrain and work quickly but carefully. I will be around if you need help.

Oops just saw this. No veins. I peeled back the shell and wet down the membrane, checked for yolk sac, didn't see anything, so massaged him out.

What would you do about the other one? My rule is "I can't assist, until you Pip". But I REALLY don't wanna lose this one. It hasn't pipped but I see it moving. It's not fully encompassing the egg, I'm sure it's shrink wrapped.

Best of luck, QJ! The 8th ducky is almost hatched out. The 9th one pipped on the wrong end, but is still working its way out of the shell. We may assist it after the 8th one is out. Eggs 10 & 11 never externally pipped. We checked them and they were both at the wrong end too.

First 3 duckies are in the brooder. They are eating, drinking and getting their legs under them fast.

2 Blue laced are out. This one... Just basically popped out like it wasn't attached to anything. I've never seen a cleaner egg! Which means they were ready. I can't wait til they fluff up, one is more dark and small and one is more white and bigger.

The other one was fully formed, but dead. :( The last egg has no movement so I'm letting it go.
