Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Hi Stillmecle,

Its been fun to follow your adventures (up and down) in hatching. Glad the new baby makes you happy. we always really enjoy the little ones. Ducks are messy and a bit less cozy, but its so FUNNY to go up to their box and say hi and have them all turn that one eye toward you and watch you. It appears to me that they are always trying to decide where to run. I've never had much luck in making them super tame, but they still lay a lot!!

This year, the 12 year old has to shut up the ducks everynight. At first they were complete freaks, but they are starting to cooperate a bit more for her.

But not too much, in true duck fashion.

Hi Marty welcome to our little world here. QJ and Julie are from KS too Do you have anything hatching now?

I have 2 ducks that are tame but they are my 2 month old babies, almost 3 months now. I don't get to keep the little chicken I named fluffy. She has a new momma that is taking her once my geese and ducks hatch this next weekend. So I have to enjoy her while I can And boy is she spoiled

darn almost time for bed. Hubby gets up every friggin morning at 4:30 and just HAS to wake my tired butt up and then I can't get back to sleep and nobody is on here. So then if I start talking to myself on here, I sound like I have some mental problems, I know I know, I have mental problems, but thats another story.

Gates and Zarda are both good! My Dad is from KC, so were their a lot to visit family.

I just figured out how to list stuff at the end, but heres what I've got: Khaki Campbells ducks, White Peking ducks, Chocolate Turkeys, and whtie and brown A & M quail.

I currently have a bator full of quail eggs (o.k., I ALWAYS have quaiil in the incubater) plus some chocolate turkeys. I don't really like to buy hatching eggs, but with the turkeys being so rare, and quail so copious in the breeding, I have to buy eggs at least once a year for quail, and every few years for the turkeys, to keep the bloodlines fresh and vibrant.

I HATE waiting to see how incubating works out though. sometimes its great, sometimes its a 5 day migrain headache.
