that everything goes great. you go on lockdown tomorrow too don't you?

I'm getting the LG ready now.. Making sure it's holding steady and trying to get the humidity down a little, then I'm moving them in to lockdown. I'm so excited to have duckies again! (babies)

stillmecle- lock down again? what have you got in this time? I've read all the posts, but its hard to keep everyone sorted in my mind correctly.

I notice most of you candle with a flashlight. Is is a flashlight or a special candling tool? I'm cheap, I use a cardboard box with a 75 watt bulb inside. I have two holes cut into the top, one for quail eggs, and the other for duck/chicken/turkey. I just turn on the light, cover the hole I don't need, and set one egg into the other hole.

How is everyone today?

Hows Quackerjack, Celtic, and countrygirl??
I have one WH egg, 4 goose eggs, and then a bunch of my Buff/Silver Appleyard staggered to hatch this Friday .

stilmechle - Wow, you dot like variety, don't you?? I've thought about geese, but I really can't come up with a good enough excuse to make DH make more pens. He's allready working on another pen.

I've only got quail and turkeys in now. Thinking about more ducks, but I really like to just fill the whole incubator, and get it over with once. They are cut but oh-so-very-untidy!!!

I use a small led penlight for my quail, and a bigger led flashlight for the other eggs. I like them because they don't put out heat, although maybe I need to try your method for my quail.

Hi QJF-
I think that sounds o.k.

I try to keep my still air hatcher between 96-100. At this point, either they are going to hatch, or not. Just get that humidity up there. I have a hard time getting my humidy to 60-70%. Its always either too low or too high. I sometimes just give them a quick warm misting in the mornings. I know your supposed to keep it tight, but if the point is too keep humidity up,so I just add it quick and shut the lid if its reading low.

Keep us updated, I have to hatch vicariously through you guys for two more weeks! Its a little like having a baby, you really want it to get here, but its easy to forget the work, smell, and lack of sleep thats coming!.

Cool. I like mine because it puts out heat, I know that its not gonna cook them in 5 seconds, and I know they won't catch a chill either. (Not that either is ever a problem really)

Hows Julie? I have a Julia whos six....

I can't wait to post pics for ya'll!!

Everything is already sold before they are born. I might keep some of my B/SA babies if I find any that I really like, As soon as these are harched I go right back into lockdown for some silky chickens to hatch, which again are all sold.
