Just acquired a Saddleback
Ganders:

Grey curly (buff gene carrier)
Just got a blue splash
Also bringing in eggs to hatch for additional bloodlines. Hoping for grey, blue, buff, lilac in those eggs
Keeping all of the hatchlings from our Lilac/Grey pairing as some may end up buff. Will make my choice in fall and sell everything else.
Getting a saddleback gander in fall, will keep another 15-20 make picks and sell the others.
Plus adding American geese in buff, lavender and blue this year.

Someone came to me the other day in a email and said he wants to buy 42 duck hatching eggs, and 20 baby chicks .

whats a good price for 42 duck eggs? All will be pure breds, but hes getting a assortment. Is $60 for the 42 eggs a bad price? Is it to high? I have rouens, anconas, and welsh harlequins.

DG, I charge $2 an egg for LF duck hatching eggs and $4 an egg for call duck eggs. Don't short change yourself, of 80% hatch for him he has can resell the, at 4-6 each easily as day olds.

So glad they're doing well. Yes, it will be lazy day for me. I don't feel like doing anything but watching babies try to hatch. LOL. And of course talking to the peeps on BYC.


How many days are left on your eggs? Aren't you about over the halfway hump there?
