Here they are! Everybody is out of the brooder. Blacky is still tired, but he's hanging in there. All 4 are drinking VERY well, so I'm not worried about them.

Also, this is the first time I've tried the contact paper for the brooder box and it is awesome. I won't use anything else from now on.

got my brooder down today. big stock tank waterer. the black fiberglass kind.
it will work for a while, then they will outgrow it

I haven't read everything but as two general comments (a) love all the cutie baby pictures and (b) glad that any angst has been sorted. SM, everybody here would be thrilled if you got a good waterfowl hatch. All this bad luck is terribly unfair.

Evelle, I'm awfully sorry to have insulted the Sweet Baby Rays lovers of the world. Perhaps I should tell you that hubby liked the SBR ribs just as much as the KCM ribs.

I'm not gonna hatch anything else till spring. I suggested to hubby that I might set some more eggs and he immediately got a kind of desperate, hunted look.
