Should I keep a few baby chicks to keep him company? I really dont want to keep any chicks I dont plan on keeping, but I hate for him to be lonely.

Get him a stuffed animal and he'll be fine. You can't keep a chick with him anyways cuz it will be soaking.

Help HelpHelp. I think 1 of my babies is trying to internally pip. My aircell is dipped wayyy down n i kind of see a dark shadow in the aircell. Ill take a pic laterrr. But is this wat he is rly doin?

You can post them. I don't mind, and I doubt if anyone else will. Cheap is good, I'm always dividing my ducks, as every year they seem to double in numbers, even after selling eggs and duckies!

Me, I buy cheap fence everywhere, and since I'm a gardener, I just plant them with heavenly blue morning glory and moonflowers, beauty day and night, but only in mid summer - frost.

What? My moonflowers never ever bloom until late August.

My chickens ate all my morning glories. I am trying honeysuckle, grape vines, or wild roses to cover their fence this year I think.

I suppose we should offer to help him add fence to his backyard, if he'll buy supplies. Thats a pretty good idea, thank you. Would electric fence on top of a wood fence work, do you think? That would be fairly easy to instill. It would be worth the trouble to never have his dog in my ducks again. Other dogs come around, but so far hes the one and only ace climber.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor duck, and I'm sure your neighbor feels extremely bad, also. I think a hot wire around the top of the fence would do it. I would recommend the 2" wide tape instead of the single wire. After he's been "zapped" once or twice, I don't think he'll try again. We use Horse Guard, but you can also get some at the farm & garden stores. You also have to buy a charging unit, but you can find some reasonable, especially for a smaller area. Would he pay for the materials or at least pay half? It's not very hard to put up, I've done it by myself when DH wasn't available. Good luck!
