I have a 2 acre yard, and I've read of people keeping 70+ chickens on wayyyyy less easily. However, I am in city limits and have neighbors, so I try to keep it to around 20 or less adults, with a maximum of 1-2 roosters. I like being able to let them out, and any more than that is just too much poop too, lol. They have a 25 x 50 fenced in yard, a 5 x 8 coop that only 4 chickens sleep in, and a 10 x 15 covered run, so I think they have plenty of room for 20 birds, but it's in a shady spot and there's not much growing in there yet. And they stand at the gate and beg, and the non feather footed chickens and turkey hop over easily when they want out anyway. Never over the shorter fence around our yard, but over and out of their taller one all the time.

Oh, and non bird wise I have 2 rabbits, a dog, and 3 kids. Not the goat kind of kids either, the pain in the butt people kind. They are what keeps my chicken math easily in check. When they get older and I don't have to watch them like a hawk 24/7, I'll have more time for my birds and a lot harder time keeping my poultry math in check.

neighbors are why i think gueannis arent a good idea. my neighbor lives on my property side. his dogs come over and kill my chickens and my chickens go over there to torment his dogs when they are locked up..

Lol, same here. The neighbor is pretty nice, he comes and gets me when the babies squeeze through because his lab would probably eat them. My peacock I want would probably be pushing it though. The rest of the block on the other side is an empty 3 acre lot. He lets it grow forever until he mow it, which irritates me because that makes tons of mosquitoes. But, he likes it when the broodies take their babies to live in the weeds, and watches for them when he does mow. He also rakes up all the clippings for me, which keeps me from having to buy any bedding for the chickens yard. Behind me is another empty lot. A house is being built there, but my coop was there first and is over 200 feet away so I don't care what they think anyway, lol.

UGH! How funny I think its a Manday! My hubby went to work only to turn around and come back 10 minutes later.... Stoppin around the house (mind you its 3:30AM) Then comes storminn into our bedroom and yells at me YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ME LATE FOR WORK! WHERE DID YOU PUT MY WALLET! I replied " YOU put it in your lunch bag last night" (So he had it al along & man I bet he felt like such a Doosh Waffle!)

I'm getting tired of dishes and laundry and sweeping up fruit loops and changing diapers. I think I have the Stay at home mom blues.

I lack any motivation.

Plus I have so much to do I don't know where to start.

Ok, sob story over. Back to laundry.
