Tell me, please!!

You JUST won't believe it!!!!

I just checked my bator & look do you see it HUH HUH ???

LD was yesterday ~ Today is Day 28 on my Goosies

NOW I HAVE TO WAIT !!! But for how long????

Jaz, no worries... not saying I'd run off and try your secret. I think that we all have to somewhat individualize their system based on climate and type of bators. But I'm very curious to know what works for you!

The way I incubate...

I obviously let eggs set a minimum of 4 hours & a Maximum of 24 hours (depending on how fresh the eggs)

I rotate all my eggs (quail duck goose chicken pheasant etc) at the same time and same intervals from day one of setting in the bator

I rotate all right up until I put them in LD ~ I lay all on their sides

I keep my temp at 99.75 ~ with a shut off of 100.5

I also keep my humidity at a minimum of 70% and a maximum of 82% DURING the WHOLE ENTIRE hatch from set to LD to Hatch....

Now this is per incubating instructions for my Cabinet incubator.

OH & I do not fuss/touch/ or candle any of my eggs until day 14. I know that would be hard for MOST of you .... hint hint YOU know who you are !

Wow, What a mess! Those eggs are really broken up. I personally can not stand when people use paper towel, tissues, or toilet paper for packing eggs. I've never had good hatches out of eggs that come that way. I think the only way to go is to individually wrap in bubble wrap.

Celtic... you know how we are always talking about how to properly ship eggs? Well.... I had an interesting time opening my packages this morning. Pidgey's eggs were packed in larger box, individually bubble wrapped and them loosely packed in pieces of foam and newspaper. Aurora's eggs were in smaller box, inside egg cartons that were bubble wrapped, with toilet paper on top of eggs.

Pidgey's eggs, all looking perfect:

Aurora's eggs:

I did try to save the one non-broken egg from this carton, because it is a blue egg. I rinsed it in lukewarm water and dried it with a paper towel.
I will be candling these remaining eggs carefully before setting in bator:

I luv these!!! They are like 3.99 a bag, & 1 bag will do a 4' x 4' Brooder about an inch or more deep! It keeps for weeks, You just need to stir it, no odor at all, no moisture for bacteria to grow, & keeps their feet so clean that it looks pristine, even with my Turkeys, & Feather foots. My Silkie does not have a lick of anything stuck to her. & if water gets spilled it soacks it up immediately. I also use it for my Ferret Litter, Cat Litter too. Me loves multi purpose stuff ! Also it can be used as FIRE

It also gives traction for their little feetsies! I also dust the pellets with DE (Diatemaceous Earth)

They are just Premium Grade Wood Stove Pellets...

Jazmine what are the pellets that you are using in your brooder boxes?
