Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I usually keep mine at 70% cocoa. But I'm re-evaluating that right now. Because that might work in my LG but it's not working in my cabinet.

Use some of your voodoo on Murphy! He won't leave me alone!
But the Humidity shouldn't matter where your at because it is in an enclosed bator ~ Everyone is keeping bators at 40% even peeps in my state, I have always had it at 70% Cocoa from day one. & Yes I am higher than you, and it is called the EverGreen State

Chicken... that's what I thought, but then we were paid $10 each for our first pair of cayuga ducklings sold. Afterward we found out feed store (when they get them in a month) will be charging $15 each, and they only get the more well known breeds from the major hatcheries. I think hubby decided to ask for $10 for cayugas and $15 for anconas. We are thinking $25+ for goslings if we try to hatch more, because I do NOT want to sell any that I just hatched! How can we build up breeding stock if we sell too much of what we are hatching.

What do you guys think?

Hey Marty, they are ancona eggs.

Those cute black and white ducks everyones is always talking about?? Who will sell me 6 eggs?? I just have to have some blue eggs like those!! Please tell me they are at least fair layers.... I just have to have pretty duck eggs like those, they are like the duck version of Araicona (sp??) chicken eggs or something, don't you agree?

Please please please.......

They are great layers, in fact!! They lay white, pinkish, and blue. They come in black/white, as well as all sorts of colors.

Anconas lay white eggs, cream eggs, green and blue. The Ancona comes in black and white, chocolate and white, blue and white, silver and white, lavender and white and tri-color. They are outstanding layers and put good laying hens to shame.

You can get colored eggs from other breeds of ducks as well though, it's not just an Ancona thing. Some of my assorted colored runner ducks in the past have laid green eggs, white eggs, and one hen even laid a lightly speckled egg.

Although if you ask me Anconas are the best ducks out there........ I will always love my Anconas.

Never seen any lay pink eggs. Would like to see a pic of that one. I'de send you some eggs, but mine are all laying off white eggs and I'm backed up past March 19th with egg orders.

It is probably what you call cream. It seemed to have a pinkish tint to me. Sorry I did not think to take pics of the last set of eggs I got, which were also from Aurora Springs.
