These are the only seasonal layers I have and I'm not getting any more. (except the geese...)You have to be pretty impressive, or dang small, to get into my backyard. No free rides. I don't have any seasonal layers, except maybe the future silkies. I recall my others didn't lay often, but they did lay all year. But hay, they are iimpressive setters. I thought about getting giant cochins for setting, but Im not a fan of that early morning cock-a-doodle-doo business. Thats why I have ducks. (I'm gonna keep the silkies in the garage at night, so I don't have to hear them! Ditto DD future old english bantems- I hear they are also good sitters. ??)
And actually, they were sold to me as Rouens and then one day they flew over my house. (approximately page 30 of this thread) HA!!
I'm wondering how the cock a doodle thing will go over here. Might have to keep roosters at my dad's minus the cream legbars.. I guess it will depend on how loud everything is.
