I think I got embdems instead. My geese don't have tufts, I thought they'd have a little bit of one by now.

but if tufted works the same way the crested gene does then there is always the chance of getting untufted

Tufts and crests are different. Crests are deformities in the skull, and can be lethal bred crested to crested which is why they can be crested/non crested. Tufts are just feathers that stick up like a bad hair day, and both parents/offspring should be tufted. Plain headed romans are pretty much a completely seperate breed here, there shouldn't be tufted/non tufted mixed goslings.

When they were ittie bitty I thought they had little tufts sticking up, but the bigger they get the less I think so and the more I think they are embden.

No incubator for me but a few broodies on dummy eggs. However all the feed stores got baby fowl this week. Will power fading....XD

Wow, I'm slow today, lol. I keep stopping in the middle of posting to stop the kids, and by the time I post I'm a little late.

Thank-you! i have my own room in our partly finished basement to do all my stuff, that is the only way i can have one, it is 4x4 with a removable divider to make 2 pens and i just added another one to make it about 2X2 for the babies.
