Just got mostly caught up....
cute pics every one! Here is my update:
This morning i woke up to hear peeping and got super excited (even though there was about 6 inches of snow outside) and this is what i found:
Duck one: i am pretty sure she died in my hand last night
Duck two: dead
Duck three: was peeping loudly when i closed the bator, but died in the night
Duck four: still stuck in shell and dead, was also working very hard to get out when i put the bator to bed
Duck five: dead in shell last night
Duck six: Alive
and did 90% of the work herself, bopping around and peeping!
Duck seven: Alive
i had to do most of the work for it and was still attached by a string and peeping loudly!
i took duck 6 out of the bator right away and was going to put her in the hatchery brooder, but dropped my heat bulb and smashed it
so into the other incubator she went until i got back from the kids dentist apt.
4 hours later we get back heat bulb in tow, i cleaned out the hatcher set it up and put her in, meanwhile duck 7 has lost her string, so i grabbed her out and brought her down to the hatchery. i took them out before fully fluffed because i was afraid of them maybe catching something from all the deadness in the bator.
they are now all snuggly with "mama" monkey and peeping, napping, running around, and napping. this hatch was very sad but... looking at them it is worth it
