Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

70%: your chicken (i.e. The duckling) is adorable! Is it a boy?

Yep, it's a boy!

Whats up Cocoa, Jaz, and SM? I see you lurking.....

Unfortunately for me I'm at work, so I kinda just sneak on when I can

cant wait
anyone got any tips for me cuz i heard they are the hardest to hatch

The 5 that I sold had big tops too but I wanted the colored ones and this white one. I sold her 4 white and one Buff colored. I need to know if they are boys or girls though.

You're going to have to wait another 4 months or so to tell if they are boys or girls, unless you get an early crower.

Country girl has call eggs in the bator.

I am so worn out. I got the new fence around the coop. Cleaned it out, which is a pain because I do deep litter so there was lots and lots. I have one side left to line with cinder blocks and I still need to line the door with smaller wire, but I'm almost done with it. Still need to cook for my kids and bring in the babies who are out in the brooder. They have their heat lamp on, so they've been staying outside during the day.

Hi Lcw! That's exciting about the Call duck eggs.

Keep an eye on the air cells - have a read about how to adjust humidity to keep the air cells growing at the right rate. Getting the air cell the right size (about a third of the egg) at the end is important. Usually, high humidity at hatch (70%) is the way to go.

This is a good article on incubation. Sorry if you know all that stuff already!! http://www.thepoultrysite.com/articles/166/care-and-incubation-of-hatching-eggs
