I did once, on my calls since I had geese in there anyway, and I had an awful hatch, although I had temp problems and they were shipped. My first duck eggs were 2/2 and so far these are 14/14 not spraying so I'm not bothering with it.

i mist mine only because the first hatch i misted and i almost had a 100% hached (if i can keep my hands to myself i bet i would have)

BAHAHAHA! I was seriously laughing out loud when I read this. Forks is in a beautiful area but it is also the rainiest city in the U.S. I don't think I could handle that.

my bobtailed quail eggs are doing great!! tossed that one that didnt vain so that make 21 eggs doing great one EE egg and two EX. leghorn eggs

cross your fingers this will be my year to hatch those darn EX. eggz i always put them in the bator and havent had one hatch yet
they still have pullet size eggs and they are almost three years old.

DG, wish I could offer some advice, but a chick who hasn't turned, internally pipped, or absorbed the blood will be super tough to do an assisted hatch with. It would require extremely fine pointed ( like iris) scissors, tiny progress making it feel like you aren't doing enough.
Best I can offer is lay it backs. It's side in the bator and leave that lid shut. No more touchy/messy with the eggs.

What I'm wondering is if he can breathe. I had 2 bottom pippers make it with this last hatch. And yes, I gave you that bad luck!

Excellent, gotta go google (unless you have a pic to share) what a bobtail quail is.

We have BobWhites we free range here on the property. They were raised from hatching to adulthood in small covey cages and then soft released into an aviary for flight work. Then we opened the aviary door one day and let them roam in and out. Now I can go out and whistle or use the bobwhite call on my phone and they come from all directions to be fed. Not all will come back in at night, but we still have 70% that do return and they sing and stand looking at us almost like demanding to know where their food is.

are you sure about that??? Seattle is pretty rainny we go about 6 time a year and every freeking time im their its raining!!
