Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

QJ, I am hatching the, because they aren't ours. They will hatch about mid week next week and then leave on Saturday with their new owners. :D maybe Thurs/Fri if I can get them to drive over and pick them up.

Forgot to ask, the local goose kid does he have only whites? If you haven't asked now is a good time to do so.

Your girl is from a white/white pairing here, but we have buff, lilac, grey, saddleback as well and have set blues and lavenders for 2013 breeding season.

Going to be tough picking who to keep this fall for next year. Only whites are being offered as eggs or day olds. All color stays here till I make my picks since you don't know what you got till they start to really feather in.

YEAH I did score the 2 dozen cayugas !!!!

Everything will go in by the weekend ! & then I am done for a while until things start to feather out & stuff!

Uh oh... here's a fun ad for mystery eggs. I think I may have to go for it... would it be ok to email seller to ask for 3-4 eggs?

I always pm & ask if they have any extras that they could throw in for extra$ (They just add the difference in their shipping cost when they send out the invoice to me) Thats how I keep getting my 5 goose egg auctions
THOSE are pretty !

Awesome on the cayugas.... and you say you are done buying eggs. I believe you.

I wouldnt buy those Sebastopol eggs. They lack chest curl, they have some, but since they are curly breasted, not smooth they should have way more. Their wing and back feathers are thin and straggly. Not a quality example of the breed, and IMHO not worth any cost for the eggs.

eBay is full of bad looking Sebastopol hatching eggs for sale. Not every Sebbie should be used for breeding. Pets fine yes as not every bird of any species/breed should be used. However using I fervor birds to rip people off on eBay by selling hatching eggs is not right. Again just MY Oppinion here.

I'm not emailing that guy back. He isn't very talkative isn't offering a lot of info and never emailed me back when I said to put me on the list for one. I think he's just a kid lacking social skills.
