YAY all 6 bantams hatched! & I have 4 Lav Orps Fluffing out & 3 Muscovies hatched this morning !!!

I have more Muscovies pipping & 5 just hanging out

I have also my 4 WHF Lav orps pipping & only one left to pip

Hi everyoe. Happy Friday!

I cancelled my order, and just bought an LG w/ a fan. Yeah, I know, I've heard they can be iffy. Mine is in a closed closet, and its holding pretty good temp so far. It won't be too challenged in there. I think the fan will help. Hubby has agreed to build me a cabinet from some plans in a few monthes, so It'll work until then. Glady to have it, ready to get my eggs in there tonight.

Just put a bunch of quail inlockdown, but some were bad, and many felt hollow and empty now. Could be a dud. If bad luck runs in three's, I should be about good now. But, just to be safe, I'm going to go ice/water calibrate my thermometers again. It's like the swedish proberb "go out and find your luck." LOL

Hey marty!

Ok, I candled bobby (no lectures ) and he internally pipped! So I quikly ran him to the bator, and turned the goose eggs one more time. Hopefully he will pip, and zip, anf hatch really quick! ....... Lets hope no help is needed.

just checked the babies (WH) and i am pretty sure all 4 are girls if the beak color sexing holds true

although i wouldn't mind a drake the are so gorgeous! i will try to post pics later, the kids posted the dang batteries on me again

, 2 of them are in the baby section and 2 are in the bator fluffing up

Yay! Usually the bill sexing works. Its a 99% chance its correct. Congrats!

bill sexing is only accurate on certain strains. as with the feather sexing.
it all depends on where the birds came from and where they were bred.
so hopefully its true for yous. =)

put a wire pen around my broody.
hopefully i have babies tomarrow. and she will take on more eggs.
if i have nothing tomarrow by chore time (5pm ish)
then i will pull eggs out and try to candle them to see what is going on in there.
just to make sure everything is ok

No, as long as their pure breds it works great. I dont think it has to be sertaint strains... Baking, where did you get these?
